About Us

Who We Are

ProvidersUnite is a grassroots coalition uniting community care and support providers – and the people who depend on these services – to demand urgent action and protect our sector from collapse.

We are carers, workers, leaders and families who united following our open letter to the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, calling on her to recognise the profound impact that the Autumn Budget 2024’s proposed tax increases would have on the care sector.

Why We Act

Decades of underfunding and broken promises have pushed care to the edge.

But we are not standing by any longer – we are standing together.

The Backbone of Care

We represent a vital network at the heart of England’s communities. Behind every number is a person, a family, and a workforce holding the system together.

Together, these numbers show the scale and strength of the care sector:

  • 1.2 million people receive formally funded care
  • Millions more depend on unpaid care from families and friends
  • 1.6 million professionals employed in England
  • £71.4 billion of essential services delivered
  • Formal care now valued at a total of £184.3 billion

Our strength lies in our shared commitment to safeguarding the future of adult care and ensuring providers’ voices are heard at every level of government.

We are the backbone of care. And we’re not going anywhere.

Our Mission

Our mission is to create a sustainable reform, one that matches the true cost of care, fair wages for staff, and recognition of the sector’s essential role.

We do this by:

Influencing Policy

Ensuring frontline providers are heard in Parliament, government consultations, and budget decisions

Raising Awareness

Through rallies, film campaigns, and resource toolkits, we build support from communities, MPs, and care professionals.

Our Vision

Social Care and Support is essential. So are we.

“A future where social care is financially stable, the whole workforce is valued with fair pay, and our services are recognised as essential to society.”

We are carers, workers, leaders, and families.

We are the backbone of care.

And we’re not going anywhere.

We represent a vital network serving over 1.2 million people and employing 1.59 million professionals—the invisible infrastructure behind our communities and the NHS. Together, we deliver essential care services valued at £68.1 billion.

Decades of underfunding and broken promises have pushed providers to the edge. But we are not standing by – we are standing together.
